Tell Me More

Tell Me More

I am excited about this blogging opportunity.  I love the design.  Can someone tell me how you connect a picture with an article?  How many folks are associated with this blog?  What about 100 years from now?  What happens to the information that gets put on this blog?  How do I save it all for my grandchildren?  I have a tendency to not hold back on details and information.  I hear alot about not sharing too much on a blog.  I like to take the risk and be vulnerable.  I like to error on the side of grace rather than law.  How is it a good idea to take risks on this blog?  I welcome your good advice?  What is it that has taken a long time for you to learn about blogging?  I am always looking for hot ideas.  Thanks for reading and listening.

Energy

Energy

I just heard Rush Limbaugh talkig about poverty and energy in the world today.  He was saying that the population of the world is around 6 1/2 billion.  5 billion folks in the world don't have autos and electricity.  That means that 1 1/2 billion folks use all the energy.  He was saying that 1 billion folks live in China.  Only 500,000 in China have electricity and autos.  This figure is changing and more and more are getting autos and electricity.  So think about what happens if this whole scenario changes.  What will the demand for energy be like?  I always like to hear a good debate between capitalism and socialism.

The Concept

The Concept

I was in church last Sunday.  I am a retired Lutheran minister.  I am used to being in the worship leader each Sunday.  But Sunday I was in the pew with my wife.  It is always good to see life from many different perspectives.  We said at the beginning of worship that we have failed to love our neighbor as ourselves.   I was wondering if this wording has a way of setting us up to continue to fail.  We have failed and we will continue to fail.  It maybe could read we are challenged to love our neighbor as ourselves and appreciate that challenge.  So I was wondering about the wording.  And then I got to thinking---Is it really possible to love our neighbor as ourselves.  What would that be like?  How do we get into that mode?  I sure would like to hear some thoughts on this concept. I always enjoy seeing my behavior change.  I love to be able to respond to life in a new way.  Help me with my thinking process.

Monday Greetings

Monday Greetings

Greetings on Monday, March 19!

I am new on this blogging opportunity and would welcome any advice.  I am 66 years of age.  I am an ENFP personality type.  That means I am pretty impulsive and whimsical.  I like to stay on the high road all the time and really experience hell when I am not on that high road.  I am a retired ELCA minister.  I like to use lots of incidents and stories in my preaching.  I do not view myself as a typical minister.  I like to draw out stories and the unusual happenings in the lives of others.  My wife just stopped in my office and asked why I was on the computer and not getting ready for a 2:30 appointment.  She said, "You just wanted to get home to that damn computer."  I recall my father referring to the sheep as those "damn sheep."  So shit and damn are pretty handy words.  I hate to admit it but I have a strong leaning toward the crude and unusual.  It is embarrassing to admit that as a Lutheran minister.  I always like to say that "God is crazy and the Gospel is fun."  Again, I shudder when I say that because that is not what people are used to hearing.  I love to look for good photos on the internet.  I carry my camera with me most of the time.  Tell me more about your experiences on this website.  I am really fascinated by what is able to happen in life by way of the computer.  Warm regards from Nile Buch in Lincoln, Neb.
